Geotechnical Investigations for the 

Proposed Port Bukasa

  • The TCA-BUKASA-2024 Project is a landmark initiative led by Tectoni Africa, focusing on the geotechnical investigations and foundational studies for the proposed Kampala Port at Bukasa. Our team conducted extensive geotechnical investigations, including drilling 100 meters beneath water, to assess soil stability and suitability for large-scale infrastructure.

183MW ISIMBA HYDROPOWER PROJECT AND
 THE ISIMBA –BUJAGALI INTERCONNECTION PROJECT 

RAMS – For Correcting inconsistent C3 inclinometer readings 

Services involved:

  • Tectoni Africa completed borehole drilling at the dam site to address inconsistent C3 inclinometer readings, following ISI-MS-144 RAMS. A 30x30 cm section of asphalt concrete, gravel, water-stable layer, and filter material was removed to access the clay core, with materials stored for backfilling. Using SP3500 DESCO geological drill rig on a plastic sheet to prevent contamination, a 110 mm diameter borehole was drilled to 21.2 m, with casing advanced to minimize clay core disturbance. No water or high-pressure air was used, and drilling maintained a consistent speed.
